DIGITAL DISSEMINATION (DATABASES, WEB PAGES etc.)

  • Our PEET home page (these pages)

Project details, images, systematics utilities, selected references, links,  and other information of use to those interested in Parasitic Hymenoptera.

  • Opiine Databases

Full citations for all known taxonomic literature to Opiinae, including many obscure references.  Also includes most non-taxonomic literature in which opiines are mentioned (e. g., general biology, hosts, behavior, biological control). The species taxonomy database is now on-line. It includes information on original citation, types, taxonomic history, hosts, and distributions.

  • Parasitoids of Fruit-Infesting Tephritidae

An digital identification guide to identification of the parasitiods of fruit-infesting tephritidae. The project includes more than 200 hi-resolution digital images, a key, and more than 50 terminal pages.

  • mtrx

A relational database in Micrsoft Access™ capable of managing morphological characters, terminals, and groups thereof. Unlimited numbers of matricies consisting of individual or grouped data may be stored.  Data may be exported for analysis in Nexus format.

  • Digitally Imaging Parasitic Hymenoptera

A method-based set of web-pages describing some of the techniques used to digitially image small insects.

  • MORPHBANK

This is an image database initiated by PEET collaborator Fredrik Ronquist at Uppsala, Sweden. PEET contributions to the database (primarily by student Matthew Buffington) are acknowedged on the MORPHBANK website.

  • Encarsia (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae) database

This is a species-level database for the genus Encarsia, compiled by Jim Woolley as one of our first PEET products. Developed primarily to assist researchers in biological control of pests. Woolley receives frequent requests for identification of species in this genus, as well as information on hosts, etc. Data on hosts and species distributions are important features of the database.
